Who or what is your musical inspiration?
The artists that inspire me to be how I am in no particular order – Eric Clapton, Tom Waits, Warren Zevon, Gordon Lightfoot and Leonard Cohen. My inspirations to continue music outside of that is the support of my family. The fans that have stuck with me and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t come up with some kind of run in my head on Bass, piano, drum you name it .The music that I share is the kind of music that is a backbone to the music infrastructure I like best
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I was an EMT for covid in NYC I built a guitar in in honor and memory, Id get to play it for the place itself. It would be a bucket list item to perform on such a stage. I used to be very active with music, but natural disasters, and bouts of bad luck always seem to prevent me from that last step to be able to do something like this at least once. Winning/ being a finalist and something like this would help legitimize all of the support that my family and fans have given me over all the years.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would pay off my credit card debt that allowed me to move back to Florida after a hurricane destroyed my home. After that, I have a few friends that are struggling and I would like to give them a little bit of financial boost and also that helps pay it forward. I would invest some money for the future, and I might upgrade some gear or things for my own quality of life and invest in my upcoming wedding.
