Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I grew up on ’90s country like The Chicks, which is where I first fell in love with storytelling. Later, discovering artists like Prince, Michael Jackson, and Donna Summer sparked my love for disco and funk. The music I make now feels like a perfect blend of country, soul, and funk which feels true to who I am as an artist.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be a game-changer for my career. It’s not just about the massive audience, it’s about standing on a global stage that champions change and inclusivity. It would allow me to share my music and message with a massive audience, connect with like-minded people, and inspire change in the genre. It’s an incredible opportunity to amplify my voice and contribute to a cause I deeply believe in.
What would you do with $50,000?
As an independent artist, I know how much it takes to compete with the big dogs. I’ve been working so hard on my new album, and this money would truly help me bring my dream project to life. It’s so important for me to share these unabashed queer country stories, because I know there are kids out there just like I was, wishing they had someone to see themselves in.
