Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I’m a 90s baby and I am inspired by ERYKAH BADU, LAUREN HILL, NEO SOUL,CLASSICAL, JAZZ ECT… My grand father traveled this world playing a harmonica and a saxophone! My great uncles have music that plays on late night Texas radio stations, my uncles in New York that used to dj house parties! I come from this lineage of talent that was never discovered.. that doesn’t just inspire me it drives me!!
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I just want to share my gifts with the world and this is a great dream of mines since I was 5! This is what I need! It’s a platform that others are utilizing just to gather and love and return the collective consciousness!
What would you do with $50,000?
Shesh, my first line of business is business! I would hit the studio HARD! People have seen me live but I’m sure they would love to play my tracks but I haven’t had a budget for studio time so I have 100s of unrecorded songs and features! I have capture the experiences and now I want to play them for the world to love on and listen endlessly! I would be able to create my brand! This winning would provide Ajha Sky with that!
