Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration was influenced from childhood with Mom who sang gospel, Pops who played tenor sax, sister who was the vocalist for jazz a quartet and brother who has been my sidekick since I was 12 years old and he was 14. Additional inspiration has come from a commitment to help heal the world through music, community advocacy and social activism.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
The primary impact would come from having a platform of this magnitude to share the positive messages of original songs written and recorded by my brother & I (The Chestnut Brothers) that reflect our passion for social change, world peace, anti-violence, homelessness and global warming.
What would you do with $50,000?
Fund a long overdue documentary and donate to support my son's youth empowerment initiatives that will create educational and economic opportunities for underprivileged children.
