Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Radiohead, Prince, Led Zeppelin, The Cure, BADBADNOTGOOD, LCD Soundsystem, Tame Impala, King Krule, Mac Demarco - anyone else that did it all themselves. I’m self-taught in all things music, so all I have is inspiration to go off of.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I have a career already - but like most people it’s not the one that I want. I want to impact other peoples’ careers more than my own. There’s a message that people want to hear, but I want to deliver one that they need to hear. If my career turns into doing just that then sure I’d be content with myself - but we live in an interesting time where people can hear what they want whenever they please. What would you do with $50,000?
Buy a Tascam 388 and a U47 - then donate the rest. I just want to record my music and get a message out. That’s all I need.
