Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Anyon Elder takes great inspiration from the natural world. Spending the last couple of years in the wilderness of Wyoming and Alaska changed his perspective greatly. He went from not being able to write a song, to creating an entire album with clarity and ease. It is through these unique life experiences that Anyon Elder has had that allowed him the ability to find his message, sound, and place in the universe.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Playing at the Global Citizen Festival would launch Anyon Elder onto the world stage, amplifying his message of wonder and hope through music. His debut single Painting Fences with Water, inspires childlike curiosity in a world that needs it. This platform would connect him with millions, spark change, and elevate a fresh, meaningful voice.
What would you do with $50,000?
In September, I moved to New York City to pursue music and art. A majority of my energy however has been spent working and figuring out how to live in such an unaffordable city. Winning $50,000 will allow me to prioritize my art for the first time in my life and grant me the luxury of time. I know that I'm going to be an artist for the rest of my life and winning the competition would accelerate me so much closer to my dreams.
