Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I've always been inspired by the classic giants of the music industry, from both American and Mexican history-Pedro Infante, Javier Solís, Juan Gabriel, José José, but also Frank Sinatra, Larry Williams, and Dean Martin. I love that my multicultural background gives me the opportunity to blend both worlds."
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
"I know I might be completely different-in my style, my person, my music-than everybody else here. And not being that concerned about my personal development as an artist, what I really wish is to have this opportunity to show the world that language is never a barrier when it's about music. To stand tall with my flag- Mexican and also American-and show the world the beauty, the art, the rhythm, the style that my heritage can bring to the table, and how big and strong our community is.
What would you do with $50,000?
"I'd probably use part of that money to invest further in my artistic career. It might not be a lot to some, but for me, it would mean the world-so I'd definitely put it into my music."
