Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Growing up in a musical family, it felt inevitable that I’d become a musician. My mother was—and still is—my greatest musical inspiration. I learned by watching her, absorbing her passion and presence. Over time, I found my own voice, shaped by a wide range of influences—from Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder to Heart, Jack Johnson, Amos Lee, Lauryn Hill, Van Morrison, Amy Winehouse, Norah Jones, and many more.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
There’s an unspoken rule that motherhood and music can’t thrive together. I’m determined to prove otherwise. Performing at the Global Citizen Festival could offer the exposure I need to take the next step—not just for my career, but for every artist who feels unseen. It’s easy to get lost in the noise of social media, but this feels like a chance to rise above it and share something real.
What would you do with $50,000?
More than anything, my dream is to record my first full album and turn my passion into a lasting career. I want to give my family the security they deserve and bring them with me on this life-changing journey. It would be an honor for my husband and son - my biggest supporters - to experience the world of music that’s carried me through every chapter of my life—the one that shaped me, and the one I hope to grow into.
