Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My biggest musical inspirations are artists that find their niche and tell their story in a way that feels authentic and full of heart. I feel like I can always tell who is being their truest self through their music, and it makes me want to do the same.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at this festival would impact my career by giving my music more exposure and allowing me to connect with likeminded artists. I want my music and career to be connected to advocacy because I agree with Nina Simone that it’s an artist’s duty to reflect the times they’re living in. Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be a great next step to be able to do that.
What would you do with $50,000?
First and foremost I would donate at least 20% to a grassroots organization providing aid to Palestinians. Then I would use the money to create more music and art.
