Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Awaiting Abigail’s music and lyrics are about uniting, uplifting each other and overcoming. The writing and performances are an experience that hits you in the heart, stimulates the mind and knocks the windows out all at the same time. Mental health awareness is at the heart of the band’s musical and artistic expression. Each song is a story and a journey that everyone can relate to.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be a huge performance opportunity at any time but would be a lasting and meaningful experience for the band and the fans alike forever. Awaiting Abigail is more than 6 people. It is a movement of bands, fans, djs, radio stations and more showing that it is not only ok to support each other in the industry, but it also lifts everyone up in the process. We believe that passion and enthusiasm are contagious and we try to spread that everywhere we go.
What would you do with $50,000?
We would donate a portion to some of our favorite non-profits supporting some of our individual as well as band interests. Next, we would donate to the internet and non/com radio stations and DJ’s that support indie bands like ours with little to no compensation even operating at a loss, doing what they love. The balance we would use to travel to spread our music and message across the country. We have self-funded travel from TX to CA, AZ, and FL and this would enable us to do more!
