Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration stems from my love for jazz & soul, which introduced me to hip hop, poetry/spoken & djing. Thelonious Monk, Ramsey Lewis, Stevie Wonder, Bilal Salaam, Dwele, Slum Village, Redman, The Fugees, A Tribe Called Quest, etc. I am music because of my inspiration.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
This would be a massive opportunity for me to showcase my passion, performance style & message. My music holds truth that needs to be heard & felt. I create to share my unique story, to encourage individuality, certainty, identity & knowledge of self. The bigger the platform, the more I can express this necessary message. This will impact my career in the best way to be more expansive, to fuel my artistry and develop more of a relationship with Top Hit Maker.
What would you do with $50,000?
So many things! With $50,000, I will purchase necessary equipment for recording & merch for my Antiinn media brand. I will use the money to fund an independent tour. I will use the money to market myself (ads, promotion videos, etc). I will use the money to boost my Antiinn media business to be able to teach creative writing classes to those who are not confident in writing songs, poems & short stories. I will use the money to take my artistry to the next level!
