Who or what is your musical inspiration?
When I was a kid, instead of current pop, I listened to the Beatles. Every era. I loved Simon & Garfunkel, Billy Joel, Joni Mitchell, and lots and lots of jazz. Specifically, I remember listening to Sara Bareilles’s Kaleidoscope Heart album on a long car ride with my dad when I was a kid. That was the first time I was really inspired to write my own stuff. Her storytelling through beautifully crafted lyrics made me want to explore that side of my own creativity.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I just released my debut album Love It All, and within the first week, the single ‘Out From Under’ has taken #3 on the Emerging 300 Chart! This album is full of genre twists and stylistic turns. You want driving, cinematic ballads? Look no further. You want a stripped back experimental rock song about child-actor trauma? It’s got that, too. I want to make music forever. I want to put on thrilling, authentic performances and connect with like-hearted people from all over.
What would you do with $50,000?
Easy. I would hire a team of musicians and go on a ‘Love It All’ tour. And I would make sure it’ll be one of the best nights of your life. Let’s VIBE. Let’s boogie, respectfully. No one gets hurt. I would also be able to move out of my parents house as WELL as support my music career! What a time to be in your 20s am I right?
