Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I have taken so many pieces of so many of my favorite artists over the years, and made them into what Bella Raye is to me. I obviously grew up listening to Taylor Swift in her prime, and of course dabbled in the world of the Dolly’s and Reba’s, all the while throwing in some rap from time to time because of my older brother. So, really, I feel like I found my sound that I have now very authentically, because there’s a little bit of all of that in my music! I just want to create
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would be life changing, I have no doubt about that. As an independent artist, you hear how important it is to always show face, and perform on as many stages as possible, but we don’t get the opportunity to do that for massive crowds until you’re a bigger name. This would give me that opportunity, and I have to say that I am SO ready for it.
What would you do with $50,000?
$50K is more money than I even know how to comprehend, but I would absolutely finance it and put some away- mama didn’t raise a girl who doesn’t know how to save money! I would also be able to put so much music out, possibly put on a tour and fully fund it myself, pay my parents back for some of the expenses they’ve so graciously paid for me over my life… there’s so much I could do with it, but overall I would feel so eternally grateful.
