Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My earliest musical memory is owning Spice by the Spice Girls—their energy and message inspired me deeply. I grew up listening to The Cranberries, whose emotional depth shaped my songwriting. I’m influenced by ‘80s and ‘90s pop and dance music, especially artists like Madonna, Dido, Sugababes, Coldplay, and Fangoria. I admire artists who speak up and stand for something. That honesty and courage are what I strive to reflect in my music as Ben Gar.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be a huge milestone in my career as Ben Gar. It’s more than just a stage, it’s a platform that brings together music, activism, and global change. Being part of that would allow me to connect with a worldwide audience that values both powerful music and meaningful messages. It would amplify my voice, not just as an artist, but as someone who believes in using music to inspire, heal, and push for a better world.
What would you do with $50,000?
If I received $50,000, I’d invest it in growing my music career, recording, producing, and reaching more listeners. My dream is to build a platform through music, and if I’m ever able to earn a living from it, I want to give back. I care deeply about animal welfare, so I’d use my success to support causes like fighting animal abuse and helping animal shelters. Music with purpose, that’s always been my goal.
