Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I’m inspired by pop, rap, and gospel. Growing up in Birmingham, AL, church and gospel music were my roots—I even played church at home with my cousin. Later, my older cousins and brother introduced me to rap and R&B. But I fell in love with pop through Disney Channel—Hannah Montana, Demi Lovato, and Natasha Bedingfield. I’d go to my dad’s school just to watch music videos. Now, my music blends all those influences into one sound.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be life-changing. Where I’m from, dreams often die, and it’s hard to believe otherwise. This opportunity would show my family and community that dreams can come true if you keep going. Even I struggle with disbelief sometimes, so being chosen would be a powerful reminder—to me and to them—that it’s possible.
What would you do with $50,000?
I’d get my mom a home where she can finally rest in peace—no trains, no gunshots, just quiet and safety. She’s sacrificed so much, and I want to give her the peace she deserves. I’d also pour the rest into my music, because it’s my way of giving hope to others like me. $50,000 would be more than money—it would be a chance to change our lives.
