Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I’ve been singing and playing guitar since I was a little girl. My dad taught me chords, rhythms, and different genres that made me fall in love with music. But the most important day of all was one childhood afternoon when I saw Celia Cruz on TV singing La Vida Es Un Carnaval. Her rich sound, genuine joy, and honest, label-free presence, awakened my heart. Since that day, I haven’t stopped making songs.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
From every point of view, it’s an incredible opportunity, global visibility, the chance to connect with thousands of hearts, and to live a dream wide awake. It’s the reward for my effort, and a path to grow and learn. But what excites me most is knowing that the songs I’ve made with so much love could reach new audiences. Winning means continuing to do what I do best, with more strength than ever.
What would you do with $50,000?
I’ve handled all the music and visual production for my songs as an independent artist, which has made big promo campaigns difficult. This year I’m producing my second album, and if I win, I’d finally launch it with a powerful campaign. I have so many ideas I haven’t done for lack of budget: music videos, tours, merch, vinyls, and new songs. I’d invest everything in my growth, as I’ve always done, and I’d love to learn from experienced mentors.
