Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration varies and contrast through a plethora genres; from classical to Afro pop. I love music in different time periods as well as long as it’s good. I would say the most inspirational to me is r&b and pop. Whitney Houston, Brandy, Tevin Campbell, Prince, Fergie, Rascal Flatts, and many more! Music is an actual and tangible depiction of emotional expression for me. It personifies human experiences in all forms. It’s a true meeting of the minds. Music is healing;
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen Festival would be monumental for my career, in the fact that I’ve taken a break from singing for a while. I’ve been performing my whole life but this for me could catapult my trajectory. I have 2 babies depending on me now; and, I want to leave them with something to look forward to! I am truly ready to make my mark in this world. Battling mental disorders and homelessness is something open, upfront, and transparent, I can vulnerably share with the world.
What would you do with $50,000?
Well I would definitely be able to get myself and my children out of our current circumstances facing all of my adversities. I want to start a performing arts for the youth foundation and center it serving the adolescents facing homelessness and mental health issues, which will be a nonprofit organization. I also would love to fund my publishing company and start my own record label one day. One step at a time, of course, but I would love to get into philanthropy and humanitarianism!
