Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I have identified as a songwriter for my entire adult life. Aside from the long list of musical creators, who have influenced me, my greatest inspiration for music and songs comes from the desire to connect with melody through emotion. An emotional state at any moment can be expressed & interpreted as discovery through the strings of a guitar, piano chord, or a particular melodic line that will appear unique, to the sensation of that emotion and sometimes combined with a thought or idea.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
My journey as a songwriter could hardly be more aligned with the mission of Global Citizen Festival. Topical songs of consciousness & change has been my niche since I started. I write for peace. I write for the climate. I write for hunger, homelessness, and for justice. I write for myself. I use my musical gifts for melodic delivery and my love of words to paint pictures. Performing at this festival is where I belong. It will deeply impact my art, my sharing and yes, my career with global re
What would you do with $50,000?
I am sure that I would designate some of that money toward promotional tools I. E. recording and video production, a donation likely. Acquisition and accumulation of money has never been a primary focus in my life so, honestly, I could not fully account for this hypothetical question. I would certainly be grateful.
