Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Healing my community is my musical inspiration. I was born into a community of violence, drugs, and dysfunction. However, there was and is a lot of love and culture that vibrates throughout the community. With my music I intend to inspire with a message of unity and love.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the global citizen festival would impact my career tremendously. I have a huge presence and following in NYC. To perform on such a big stage in my hometown would afford me the recognition that the hard independent work I've been putting in paying off. The press and media I would gain would put me at a mainstream artist status and open me up to a broader audience.
What would you do with $50,000?
With the $50,000 I would bring communities together to shoot videos / mini movies for my songs. I would employee the local professionals of the entertainment and arts to produce and create while educating the local youth their skills and trades. I would invest in merch and go on a tour as an opening act for a celebrity artist to broaden my fan base. I would hire a digital media company to document the tour and run marketing campaigns during and after the tour.
