Who or what is your musical inspiration?
We pull inspiration from everything. The Wright Brothers, Iggy Pop, Mac Miller, mountain lions, armies, and football games. We’re underdogs in a genre that is already not the most popular, and we are inspired by the opportunity to unite strangers who are bogged down by the mundaneness of their everyday lives.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Our entire mission is to unite people of different backgrounds in a world that is clashing all the time. Global Citizen Festival would allow us to be in front of more people than we ever have and spread that message.
What would you do with $50,000?
We would buy a camper, so that we could spread our music outside of New York. We would record our next album at a cabin in Virginia and fund flights, food and travel for our producers, engineers and band members. We would be able to pay our team of tour managers and day to day managers for their work, outside of small shares of show earnings. We would be able to set aside money for instrument repair and equipment, Ubers, gas, food and housing.
