Who or what is your musical inspiration?
In 2021, I was admitted to inpatient care while struggling with my mental health and the loss of my dad. We didn’t have much to do in there, so I started writing poetry just to get through the days. After I got out, I turned towards music as an outlet. It became my way of processing everything. My sound is shaped by artists like Post Malone, Taylor Swift, Playboi Carti, and XXXTentacion - people who aren’t afraid to be raw and real.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would give me a chance to showcase my abilities I’ve worked so hard to perfect. I believe it would be an amazing step towards my goal - to put on a show that defies the world I was forced into. I’ve gone through so much pain, but I am ready to show that it will never define me. With this chance, It would create a stepping stone that would be integral to reaching my goal.
What would you do with $50,000?
This is a difficult question to answer, as I’ve never really seen even $5,000. I think the first thing I would do is ask questions to the connections I would hopefully make in the music industry through this opportunity. A big part of me would like to be able to use it to support my mom and her debts, but I know she would want me to use it to go farther in music. With that, I think that asking questions would be my answer to this one.
