Major Depressive Disorder and internet access
Thank you for generously supporting callan holder in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to empower Global Citizen in their mission to eradicate extreme poverty and create a world where everyone has an equal chance to thrive.
Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical style draws from confessional indie rock and folk traditions, channeling the narrative density of The Mountain Goats, the emotional precision of The Weakerthans, and the spiritual unease of early Craig Finn. With sharp lyrical imagery and a lived-in vocal delivery, the songs feel like dispatches from the edge of faith, health, and American geography—equal parts heartbreak, theology, and dark wit.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Playing Global Citizen Festival would be huge—a chance to share these songs with a wider audience that cares about something bigger. I write about survival, belief, and the systems we live under, so being part of a lineup that’s about change and accountability feels like a natural fit. It’s not just exposure—it’s a way to connect the personal stuff I write with something global and real.
What would you do with $50,000?
Move to Minneapolis and start a band.
