Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I take most of my inspiration from movies when producing my music, always striving to make it hooky as well as atmospheric. My biggest inspirations artist wise are St. Vincent, Television, Damien Rice, and Lorde.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
As someone who grew up going to global citizen as a tween (native new yorker!), this would be the ultimate full circle moment. It's also always been my dream to perform for a cause much bigger than myself, as someone whose been involved with local activism my whole life. This performance would be the greatest amount of exposure my music has ever received & it would simultaneously reflect my values. Performing at Global Citizen would be the greatest exposure I could ask for.
What would you do with $50,000?
Record my album with analog gear & properly pay the musicians recording with me! (and properly pay my band, whose invested so much time and love into my music, for the performance). I would also pay a film crew to document the process & put it out on my YouTube channel. With the money leftover, I'd love to throw an event teaching female identifying people the basics of recording engineering. We need more girls behind the board, and I'm passionate about making that happen!
