Who or what is your musical inspiration?
From a very young age I was always moved by music my mother listened to. From the vocals & lyrics of artists like Heart on the radio, to the 45s she owned until I developed my own tastes in music like Madonna, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany & TLC. Riding the school bus I listened to my first rock songs, learned to play "air drums" to GnR & Poison. I learned to play the schools French horn because we couldn't afford an instrument, eventually switched to trumpet in Jazz band.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I have never been to GCF, but if it's anything like most festivals the exposure to a crowd that large is beautiful and overwhelmingly inspiring in itself.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would develop my stage act/costumes more, put out another album and music video and pay off some bills and fix my van. I'd buy more merchandise, maybe a new guitar or 3. Basically reinvesting the winnings into my career.
