Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My life experiences, both good and bad, have made up all of my music. Every song I’ve written and recorded has started out as a poem and transformed into a song as I found the fitting melody. Art cannot be rushed and that’s something I’ve struggled with. Quality is always better than quantity.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would absolutely change my life. I currently live in my mom’s basement because she just finished going through chemo and radiation for breast cancer. She’s had 6 surgeries and is finally healthy but it’s been a journey to get to this point. We’ve declared bankruptcy because of medical bills but we work hard everyday that we have a roof over a head because we’re happy and blessed. Thanks for the opportunity!
What would you do with $50,000?
Pay off my mom’s medical bills and divorce bills, pay off my mom’s house and car, anything I can do to help her.
