Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Paramore, Demi Lovato, Dodie, were my early inspirations growing up. Vocally and lyrically, I always loved a deep sad song and I loved artists who could belt for days. Today, Paramore is still one of my biggest inspirations, Renee Rapp and Phoebe Bridgers are more recent writing and vocal inspirations. I can make a gigantic list of music that has impacted me, but, unfortunately, I only have 500 characters.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would not only force me out of my comfort zone, but also help me gain so much more confidence with my music. I used to perform so much when I was a teen, and as I’ve been working a 9-5 it’s been harder to get myself back out there. I recently started performing again, and this would be a momentous transition into the next phase of my music career.
What would you do with $50,000?
I could finally finish my EP instead of having to save up to help get it produced. I write all my music myself and create the entire demo/song with my piano and a DAW. I’m not an expert in producing, but I try my best and i have a producer friend who helps clean it up and make it professional. I pay her, though and it can be hard, especially when I have a lot of other bills I have to pay. I do what I can, but $50,000 would make the process so much faster. I have so much on the back burner!
