Who or what is your musical inspiration?
All original songs are written by Charlie Sub, with lyrics and stories co-written by Charlie Sub and Rich Brotman, and inspired by the true story of Charlie’s family. His father, Paul Sub, founded The Coventry, a legendary Queens rock venue in the 70s. Before glam rock and punk had names, acts like Kiss, the Ramones, and New York Dolls were already shaping their sound there. How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Appearance could be a catalyst that launches awareness of these songs and the story from which they sprang during the 45 years since the closing of the Coventry. The current cultural climate makes it difficult for an emerging rock band with original material to be discovered by their audience. Bringing our show to a festival stage unleashes the power of a higher conceptual purpose celebrating the ideals of more than one generation.
What would you do with $50,000?
The band is currently involved in two major endeavors at significant cost: 1) recording their debut record of twelve songs with grammy winning record producer, Matt Shane and 2) mounting multi-media live-in-concert immersive experiences in seven major market American cities in late summer or early fall 2025. The award would be a great help in our fundraising and sponsorship campaign to fund these two projects!
