Who or what is your musical inspiration?
In 2016, I moved to Germany, and went through one of the most depressing times of my life, but almost the most formative time in my life. To vent my emotions I sang madly, wrote songs every day, and as years passed I not only got better, but I also realized that I had discovered a language most true to me--music. What inspires me, however, is watching people bond over my music and our shared experience, despite who they are. Providing a voice for those who's hearts can't speak is my inspiration.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would help me gain not just valuable exposure, but a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and experience. As a rising senior, I have to think about college applications alongside my music. Performing at the Global Citizen Festival can help me gain the traction I need on my SoundCloud to afford to start posting on Spotify and paying off my education, but can also greatly increase my chances of getting into NYU, a big step in my music career and big opportunity.
What would you do with $50,000?
With $50,000 I would start by upgrading some of my equipment, including my DAW and my general recording set up, and investing in. Since my brother will be graduating soon and my mom recently graduated, I'll set aside a few thousand to help him pay off college. Finally, I want to use the rest of the money to donate to global causes and charities, as being a global citizen and using my platform positively is very important to me and my career goals.
