Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I take a lot of inspiration from the 90’s of coarse. Artist like Janet Jackson, Musiq Soulchild, and busta rhymes are my biggest influences i’de say. I love the contrast of a sexy rnb singer on a track with a hard rapper that was such a 90’s staple and I guess in my art I’m everything. I’m the sexy rnb girl and the tough rapper with a slick tongue.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I just love a good thrill and I feel that having a crowd in front of you not knowing what to expect and having a chance to offer up a whole new world for them to potentially dive into is so beautiful and in a way I’m offering a piece of myself along with it. It’s the vulnerability of it all and what makes music such a special form of art, you never know what you like until it reaches you.
What would you do with $50,000?
Honestly, I would invest all of it into buying better resources and make a project that wasn’t recorded in my bedroom then just eat breathe sleep music until I’ve created the perfect project, in my eyes, which could take 10 years, 50 years, or maybe my entire life who knows, but I came into the world singing and imma leave it doing the same. I can’t imagine my self doing anything other than music, I never could.
