Who or what is your musical inspiration?
People, relationships, and pain inspire my music. Mariah Carey has been my biggest inspiration for emotional range and songwriting. I self-taught myself the piano because of Alicia Keys, and I still write the majority of my songs on the piano. Adele is a huge inspiration for my songs, especially my pop ballads. Whitney Houston inspired me to use my entire vocal range, sing powerfully, and make people feel.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would help me impact more people with the stories I'm telling. My career would thrive from the platform to reach the fans who need my music, my lyrics and my sound. Performing at the festival would realize a career calling I've had since I was 3 years old. It is a career opportunity for the music industry to hear my music and see me perform and know that Chinara Hill is the real deal.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would use $8,000 for production and studio time to complete the "Home" EP I'm currently working on. (My single "Home" from the EP releases August 2025.) $2,000 for the EP photoshoot. $10,000 to shoot a music video for “Home.” $10,000 for marketing “Home.” I would invest $15,000 into my investment account so that I can continue to make more money to keep making music. I would donate $5,000 for instruments to my elementary school.
