Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I take inspiration from everything -- conversations with strangers, friends and family. I write about my own beautiful and traumatic experiences and also fictional scenarios in my head. I draw it from anywhere! Whether it's a story or movie that has impacted me emotionally or made me think about things deeper, or a song I've loved that has captured a new feeling! I have so many favourite artists who have inspired me that I couldn't possibly choose just one, and there's a character limit here...
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I am an independent artist without management or a label, I just moved here from New Zealand to pursue this career internationally, and am currently in the middle of releasing my debut album. Playing a body of music, which feels representative of my true authentic self, at such an iconic festival would allow me not just exposure on who I am as an artist, but more experience in the industry and on a global stage. This will lead me to connections/further opportunities to grow & chase my dream
What would you do with $50,000?
As an independent artist, everything comes out of your own pocket. No hand out, no loan, no nothing -- just your own hustle! Of course I'd keep a little aside to live on, (this is LA) and maybe visit my family at home for Christmas, but I would invest this money into producing my next artist project and expand on my career. I would also use it to market my debut album 'INTUITION' and travel around to work with other producers and artists globally, continue to network, and go on my first tour!
