Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My father played a lot of traditional folk music … American and Irish growing up. I have played guitar since my 20 s and studied percussion in Oakland. I have never been in a proper band but I love music and was able to go hear bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees , X , Chili Peppers , Cypress Hill growing up in Los Angeles in the 80 s. In Oakland I practiced writing to hip hop beats and am just now writing more traditional songs “.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Exposure does create a buzz. Would love to see/ sing to the people.
What would you do with $50,000?
I have worked supporting a small women - owned business for the last six years. Selling my own and other locally made art. I think now is the time for women to use their voices more than ever. I would love to help endangered species. I am passionate about animals and how they are mistreated and being forced from their territory by industry and human populations. It might also give me time to write and produce an album! Would love to use proceeds to benefit the planet and also women !
