Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Helping the poor is at the heart of Chuck Fenda’s inspiration. Known as the Poor People Defender, his music is driven by the struggles of the underprivileged and voiceless in society. Growing up between Brooklyn and Jamaica, Chuck witnessed firsthand the hardships faced by the poor — from lack of opportunity to systemic oppression. I Chuck Fenda likely would use it to directly uplift the poor and underserved communities I passionately represents. I would likely team up with existing NGOs and charities that are already doing the work on the ground, helping them scale up their impact. In his words, I'd probably say: “Mi nah use dis fi floss—mi a use it fi uplift di poor and give di yutes a chance. Dis a fi dem.”
