Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My inspiration comes from My loved ones in Chicago & the Chicago area. My partner, my family, and my friends. It's Common, Twista, Crucial Conflict, and Artists like Saba, Femdot, Mick Jenkins, Jay Z, & OutKast It's food that's fried hard, and riding the L, it's the smell of soul. The vibe of a lake shore drive. My city inspires me everyday.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would be aligned with who I am in a way. Equity, ending poverty, and systems of oppression that stand in the way of a thriving earth. My songs are about collectivism, community, and connection.
What would you do with $50,000?
A portion to get started and complete a new album, and another to pay some of my family's debts down. Save some to go to Global citizen next year as a guest.
