Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Joni Mitchell has to be my biggest inspiration. How she carved her way through a rapidly changing music scene to reinvigorate folk music through her mastery of words and innovation of her instrument, whether it be guitar, vocals, or mountain dulcimer, will always leave an impression on my heart.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would be the biggest event of my life so far. Outreach is one of the hardest aspects of being an uprising musician and this kind of audience would set the trail ablaze.
What would you do with $50,000?
If I had $50,000, I would first pay off all my debts and then put myself in a position where I can focus more on music. That may be putting myself through school to educate myself on the business aspects of music, learning more theory and history, or purchase what I need to make writing and recording music easier so I can focus less on logistics and more on going with the flow and creating art that comes from the heart.
