Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Constrain draws inspiration from bands like Poison the Well, Ontario legends like The Holly Springs Disaster and The Gorgeous as well as the genre-bending ferocity of The Blood Brothers. Influences like Seeyouspacecowboy and Drop Dead Gorgeous fuel our blend of screamo, metalcore, and hardcore. Pushing emotional extremes, abrasive textures, and unpredictable structure into something uniquely our own.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be a seismic shift for Constrain. As a band rooted in Canada's underground, breaking out of the bar scene and stepping onto a globally recognized stage would amplify our reach exponentially. It would expose our genre bending sound to a diverse, international audience, legitimize our presence in the broader music industry, and open doors to larger festivals, label interest, and cross-border tours marking a true turning point in our careers!
What would you do with $50,000?
We’d invest in a professional full length album, music videos, marketing, touring, merch, and gear, everything needed to evolve from local scene staples to a global force in heavy music. This would be our launchpad to the next level!!
