Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Early on, I was inspired by The Rolling Stones and then discovered the deep storytelling of country music. Having started by writing poetry, I approach song writing with the lyrics at the forefront. Also, my early experiences in New York being around theatre had me studying the greats such as Sondheim, Cole Porter and Lin Manuel Miranda which only strengthened my love for the lyric. I draw inspiration now from several artists such as Tyler Childers, Kesha, Vince Gill, Dolly Parton and more.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen Festival would have a huge impact not only on my career but my life! My parents always tell me that the most important thing about making music is being able to share in with people from all walks of life and have them relate. Being a "citizen of the world" is a motto for me all around. I love to travel, learn about other cultures and always try to put myself in someone's shoes and not judge. What would you do with $50,000?
I would put the money toward continuing to develop my craft and career. From studying to writing to equipment and studio time, $50,000 would go a long way and would make a huge impact on timing as I look to release more music.
