Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Celia Cruz showed me the power of cultural identity. Madonna taught me reinvention without limits. Hannah Montana sparked my belief that you can be both the artist and the dreamer. Their influence gave me the courage to be bold, tropical, and fearless with my sound.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen would amplify Miami’s voice on a global stage. It would help me connect cultures through rhythm, inspire young creatives like me, and grow Selva Beats MIA as a community-driven platform sharing Latin energy worldwide.
What would you do with $50,000?
I’d reinvest in music education for youth, expand my Selva Beats DJ classes, launch my creative studio officially, and create more cross-cultural collaborations that elevate Latin sounds in house music. I also would be able to invest in publishing my children’s book Selva The Flamingo: DJ of the City.
