Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I am inspired by different artists every day, Radiohead and Björk are huge influences. Broadly speaking, what drives me to create is the need to express. It gives me a sense of hope when I can crystallize my essence into a song because it’s like I’ve created an extension of me. When I started making music in 2021, I was inspired by the DIY scene in NYC. I went to a Chaotic Ugly set at Pecos and was shocked at how intimate the setting was, it made it feel feasible to do something
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I would finally be stepping out of my DIY comfort zone and into a commercial platform where I could broaden my reach. Although I have been playing shows regularly for almost 3 years now, a festival is very different from a warehouse. Performing at a show like this has been a personal goal of mine lately and my hope is that it can help launch me into a position where I can pursue creating music full time. What would you do with $50,000?
I’d bring it straight to the poker table. Just kidding, it’d actually go straight into the mortgage I took out on my apartment - I want to have myself covered sooner rather than later in life, so hopefully one day I can help my mom out. I come from a very low income household so fighting for long term financial freedom and comfort is the priority.
