Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration comes from my journey and the life I lived growing up in Jamaica. I was raised without a mother from the age of 8 and didn’t meet my father until I was 20. That level of independence at such a young age forced me to grow fast and learn how to survive. It built me—turned me into a gorilla, mentally strong and unshakable. The pain I experienced didn’t break me; it fueled me. I channel that pain into purpose, and that purpose into prosperity through my music
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be more than a milestone—it’s a chance to inspire others and show that with faith and determination, anything is possible. I see this as a platform to give back, to serve, and to be a vessel for purpose—not for fame, but to uplift those still fighting to reach their dreams.
What would you do with $50,000?
I’d split the $50,000 in two: $25K to start an IUL life insurance plan to build wealth through compound interest. The other $25K would fund my nonprofit, the Dancehall Gorilla Foundation, helping young artists access music and education. I’d also finish my album The Rise of the Gorilla—music with purpose.
