Who or what is your musical inspiration?
1. U2. As a kid, I fell in love with the songs. However, it wasn't until I started to learn about the mission, and work, of U2, on and off of the stage, in creating greater Equity & Equality in the world, that I was inspired, and began to discover my own WHY as an Artist, Songwriter, and Performer. Now, as a Musician, who also lives with a Disability, I use music to create space for voices to be heard. Re-writing the narrative, breaking stigma, and empowering people through Music.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen Festival would have a massive Impact not only furthering my career, but allow me to have a more intentional Impact in the Community work I do. Being able to perform on a stage, surrounded by other like minded artists & people, would give me the opportunity to share my message, and create opportunities to further my own growth, development, and understanding, as to how I can best use music to create a stronger impact in peoples lives, community and the world.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would use the $50,000 to Invest in ways that continue to further expand my Community work, Impact & career. I would Invest a percentage into the Music, and a percentage into some of the Systems of 'A Song, A City' - a movement Created in 2013 to amplify the voices, stories, and abilities across our Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus, and Disability Community. Beyond that, I would invest money into Marketing, and other ways that continue to have a positive Impact through Music.
