Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration comes from loving memories of my childhood blended with the melodic legacy of Ella, Nat, Louis, Nina, and Grappelli. The soul, elegance, emotion, and the dance between simplicity and complexity shape me. But it’s the rhythm of my Cuban roots, always boiling in my blood, that brings it all to life and drives me to create music that moves, heals, and celebrates every heartbeat.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would expose my music to a global audience, opening new opportunities, collaborations, and festivals. It would amplify my message of cultural fusion and healing through rhythm, showing the world what Afro-Cuban Jazz rooted in lived experience sounds like. It would be a dream!
What would you do with $50,000?
The aftermath of the pandemic deeply impacted my life. With $50,000, I could focus on my craft, record professionally my second and third albums, and create a solid marketing package to connect with national and international festivals, to eventually perform in several of them every year with my band.
