Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My parents were phenomenal musicians for starters. Early on, Aretha Franklin and Joni Mitchell showed me how to sing and write songs. Invitations to perform from NYC to Nashville to LA for large venues kept the flame growing! Creating a new song (on the spot) with audiences gives a full circle experience where everyone is included to express their passion. On the humorous side: I wrote a song for the Dentist during a root canal! My mom said “Believe In Your Dreams”...Thank YOU!
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival simply put: The Impact Feels Right and Perfect timing! I’d reconnect with all of the industry leaders from my past who impacted my career to honor them with deep gratitude. Some nicknamed me The Princess Of Persistence, others The Firecracker. The impact is clear...listen, love and learn. Treat everyone with respect...As I never know who might align with my musical message.
What would you do with $50,000?
The $50,000 would be divided into categories. Some to my favorite charities. Some to my producer ( Chad Quist) who would perform with me at the Global Citizen’s Festival. Some to recording another 20 new songs. Hiring a small team of passionate pros to suggest new ways to share my music. Lastly, give a portion to my documentary friend so we can complete a docudrama about my childhood hero..Rocky Colavito.
