Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I’m inspired by legends like Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, and Sara Bareilles, my students, including HAZI & Emory and Pieta, and my late mentor Ron Anderson, who changed my life and voice. I sing to honor those I’ve loved and lost, like my dear friend Rebecca Joy. My music is about healing, connection, and using every note to lift others. Teaching and performing go hand-in-hand in my journey.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be life-changing. As an artist, vocal coach, and advocate, I use music to heal, connect, and inspire change. This stage would amplify my mission—to move people, to speak for those who can’t, and to turn pain into purpose. It’s not just about a career milestone—it’s about using my voice to make a difference and finally sharing my story on a platform built for impact.
What would you do with $50,000?
With $50,000, I’d finally record and release the music I’ve carried in my heart for years. I’d repay the friend who helped cover my dog’s emergency care and honor her memory by continuing the work she was by my side for—building something meaningful. I’d invest in a better teaching space and updated equipment so I can more effectively share the vocal method that gave me my voice and confidence—the one I wish I had before Idol—and now get to pass on
