Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My late, great mate, David Bowie, remains the ultimate inspiration. I met DB in 1999, in London, an unforgettable story from a bygone era - then coming back to NYC, a cool little friendship/mentorship emerged. He reinforced Originality & Authenticity at every Level, and showed that one could be the Ultimate World Wide Phenom of Fame as Emperor of Rock n Roll, but also make Sincere, Uncompromisingly Artistic, Truly Honest music. He was also Funny AF, and humble. The 'Low' album. I mean... WOW
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Exposure. Connecting with an Audience on that Level... Getting Ears on my Music, Songs, Artistry, Storytelling, and my Life's Work. Getting to play for that Many Folks and Rock Them Hard would be a pretty Hard Feeling to Beat... I have some incredible musicians in my Band these days, and we could Deliver the Pizza in a BIIIIIIIIGGGGGG Way.... xoxoxoDivvy
What would you do with $50,000?
Would go directly in to Recording new music, making Music Videos / Short Films about these tunes. I would also put it in to the Documentary I've started making about my recent Music-Making Journey, which started with me getting to Jamaica in December 2020 Lockdown times and recording at Tuff Gong Studios (that's Bob Marley's Family Studio in Kingston) + returning over the last few years to record more new music. These new songs were Completed & Mastered, at Abbey Road Studio in London xoxD
