Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My inspirations to begin writing electronic dance music were Moby and a UK act called The Shamen in the early 1990s. l'd always loved the synth pop of the 1980s - Howard Jones, Depeche Mode, Erasure - but the speed and intensity of early rave music drew me in. I've also been a guitar player for 30+ years, so my overall *musical* inspirations began in the rock world. Eddie Van Halen, Tommy Victor from Prong, and David Gilmour from Pink Floyd.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
As an artist l've largely been under the radar. For most of that time l've handled everything myself - marketing, production, promotion. While I've had more success than I could've possibly imagined, I feel that being able to perform live at Global Citizen would be a game-changer in terms of my visibility to audiences.
What would you do with $50,000?
As I already have most of the music gear I'll ever need, l'd take a year off from work and use the time to spend each day writing new music and improving my craft!
