Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My inspiration is my first mentor, DJ Jinx Paul, who sadly passed in a hit and run in 2016. He was the first to let me DJ and taught me his skills. Every time I’m on the decks, I’m driven by the legacy he left behind—his creativity and mixing were unmatched. I try to bring that same energy to my sets. I’m also inspired by the crowd’s reaction—it’s feedback that fuels me—and the power of music to bring different people together.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be a huge boost to my career. It’s a chance for thousands of people to hear my skills live. The exposure to music fans, industry executives, and major brands is something most up-and-coming DJs dream of. This performance could open doors I never imagined and bring life-changing opportunities. It’s a moment that could take everything I’ve worked for to the next level.
What would you do with $50,000?
With the $50,000, I’d first help my parents by paying off any debts—they’ve supported me every step of the way. I’d also use the money to help fund my college journey next year. On top of that, I’d invest in my growth as a DJ—traveling for gigs, upgrading equipment, and sharing the sounds of DJ Marcos with the world. This wouldn’t just support my dreams—it would help me give back through music.
