Who will perform at the Global Citizen Festival, appear in Rolling Stone, and take home $50,000?
Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I write across several platforms, from rock to folk and even a touch of the blues. My rock inspirations were people and bands like Brownsville Station, MC5, Cooper, Nugent and SRC, not to mention Seger or Iggy. Whenever I picked up my acoustic guitar however, my heroes were quite different. They were folks like Harry Chapin, Tom Rush and Dan Fogelberg. Of course there were others, such as Carol King and James Taylor.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Honestly, I'm just an old man who mostly left the stage years ago. I prefer to sit here in my little studio and write my songs. I don't need or want fame. My only goal from the start has been to maybe someday sell a song or to. It would be my legacy to the world and to my grand kids.
What would you do with $50,000?
I have no idea. Maybe buy some additional studio equipment, invest it in one endeavor or another. Use some of it to escape the Michigan winter and go someplace warm for a week.
