Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My music is inspired by environment, emotions, energy, eating, education, entertainment, excellence, epiphanies, encounters, envy, equality, equity, errors, essences, ether, eternity, and events. I find inspiration in everything thing I see and do. I have mild ADHD and always find myself daydreaming. I can’t say that I have ever been bored. I don’t spend a lot of time listening to headphones because I’m always working on new melodies and lyrics in my head.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I’m 72 years old and I have suffered from Congestive Heart Failure for 25 years. It doesn’t mean that I will die soon but I always have to plan carefully and use my energy whisely. I suppose this is why I’ve been able to continue this far. I want to sing and play my song “You’re Never Too Old For Rock and Roll” for Seniors everywhere who grew up in the age of Rock and Roll. We need to “act our age” and that means showing our love for Rock and Roll.
What would you do with $50,000?
I will use the money to fund music education for my 5 grand children! Even if they don’t follow in my footsteps, they will develop skills and abilities including listening, collaborating, anticipating, spatial relationships, mathematics, performing, friendship, and leadership that will benefit all aspects of their lives.
