Who or what is your musical inspiration?
We’re inspired by indie projects like Big Thief, Elliot smith, Paramore; and soul groups like The Sacred Souls and Gil Scott Heron. It’s important to us to pay respects to the music and culture behind it while expanding upon it. Our intensity and prominent vocals take inspiration for the aforementioned indie rock groups with our more introspective work coming from the vein of singer songwriters and jazz musicians.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would give us the opportunity to prove ourselves to a much bigger audience than just in Austin, TX. We can show how much work we’ve been putting into our live and recorded playing and allow us to gain more traction on our upcoming album. Performing at the Global Citizen Festival is the chance we need to show the world how much music and creating art means to all of us. Our band is a huge part of our lives and this festival could open doors that can lead us to great places. Thank you.
What would you do with $50,000?
We would be able to upgrade our recording equipment as well as our rehearsal space. It would also allow us to hire someone to handle logistical issues to help support the band. It’d be easier to play out of state venues and get a bigger audience on social media platforms(via ad space and other marketing channels). It would give us the money to support our passion as we grow and create more projects together.
